Mahwah Actress in NBC's New Crime Drama 'Crisis'

Martha Byrne has a guest starring spot on the new show that stars Gillian Anderson and Dermot Mulroney.

A Mahwah actress best known for her longtime role on the soap opera As the World Turns will be hitting NBC’s prime time for a guest starring role on the network’s new show, Crisis.

The show, which premiered Sunday, is described as a, “powerful crime thriller set in Washington DC, which centers around a school bus carrying some of the nation's most important people's children that is ambushed on a secluded rural road, igniting a national crisis.”

Two-time Emmy winning actress, and Mahwah mom, Martha Byrne plays Marie Wirth, the mother of one of the kidnap victims.

“To be a part of a show from its inception is extremely exciting,” Byrne said.

Crisis is filled with intrigue and suspense but watching what the parents of these children go through is heart wrenching and painful, which makes for good drama. It's a great role.”

The show stars Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), Dermot Mulroney (August: Osage County), Lance Gross (House of Payne), and Rachel Taylor (666 Park Avenue).

According to IMDB, Byrne is signed on for a three-episode stint on the show. Her first episode is set to air on April 6.
