Rotary Club, CFA Help Fill Backpacks of Mahwah Students

The Bergen Highlands Ramsey Rotary Club and Route 17 Staples helped make this year's CFA 'Back to School Drive' a reality for needy local kids.

The following was submitted to Patch by the Bergen Highlands Ramsey Rotary Club.

The Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club and Ramsey Staples recently gave their support to the Center for Food Action’s "Back to School Drive," a program that provides school supplies for needy local children.

The project was underwritten by the BH/R Rotary Club, and Staples employees helped to collect the supplies needed to fill the backpacks.

Each backpack contains notebooks, pens, pencils, pencilholder, Post-it notes and a Dictionary suitable for grades 3-6, a collection of kid-friendly and easy-to-use supplies.

The backpacks were delivered to the Center for Food Action for distribution to needy children in Mahwah and Ringwood.

The Club began distributing backpacks and supplies in February 2010 and will continue the program in 2014. Generous support from Rotary, along with additional fundraising efforts, will enable the Club to continue this program throughout the 2013-2014 school years.
