Burger King Bacon Sundae Goes On Sale Thursday

Bacon-topped dessert comes in at 510 calories, report says.

Burger King is making headlines as news spreads that the chain will introduce bacon sundaes on its summer menu hitting stores Thursday.

The sundae will feature “creamy vanilla BK® soft serve, drizzled with chocolate fudge, caramel and topped with bacon crumbles, complete with a thick-cut, hardwood smoked bacon garnish,” according to a company press release.

The bacon sundae comes in at 510 calories, 18 grams of fat and 61 grams of sugar, the Associated Press reported.

As food blog Eater.com points out, Burger King isn’t the first fastfood chain to unleash bacon-infused sweets. Denny's also offered a Maple Bacon Sundae.

The bacon sundae was introduced in Nashville earlier this year, according to an AP story on the Huffington Post. It is expected to hit Burger King locations nationally on Thursday and remain available through Sept. 3.

The bacon sundae and other new summer menu options, including sweet potato fries and BBQ sandwiches, are available at participating stores.
