Super Bowl Guide 2012: Where To Watch In Mahwah

Plus, where to grab eats for your party

As residents throughout Mahwah are preparing to watch Big Blue take on the New England Patriots in Sunday’s big game, bars and restaurants in town are prepping for big crowds of fans.

“We are just excited that the Giants are playing,” Craig Kunisch, owner of the Mahwah Bar and Grill said. “People want to be around other fans for a game like this, so we are hoping that will bring big crowds.”

George Ghobrial at The Shake and Sizzle on Franklin Turnpike is excited for the game. “This is our first year in town so it’s our first big Super Bowl party,” he said. “We are excited to have people come by.”

If you are looking for a place to go for the game with your fellow fans, check out these parties:

  • – Starting at 6 p.m., the Mason Jar will be having an ‘All You Can Eat’ buffet for $15 per person. Entrees will include football classics like meatball marinara, pigs in a blanket, baked ziti, chicken parm, sliders, buffalo wings and sausage and peppers, along with drink specials. The party will also include a flat screen TV raffle to benefit Mahwah Fire Co. 2.
  • – MB&G is offering drink specials all game long, and a free buffet at half time. The restaurant will also be offering raffle prizes throughout the night, which include a Budweiser bicycle and a fire pit.
  • Shake and Sizzle – This new restaurant is getting ready with weekend-long specials. Stop by for Super Bowl prices on flying chickens, wings, sliders, ribs, and different combination platters.

And, if you’ll be watching the game from the comfort of your own home, many restaurants in town, like , (deliveries or pick up), , and (deliveries or pick up) will be offering catering and platter specials in time for the game. Most recommend getting your orders in by Saturday.

“Of course we are having Super Bowl specials,” Larry from Mahwah Pizza Master said. “We want to give the Giants good mojo.” Check with your favorite restaurant in town to see what catering specials are being offered.
