Mahwah Should Expect 1 to 3 Inches of Snow Tuesday

Local officials warned of a messy commute thanks to Tuesday snow event

Mahwah can expect to see one to three inches of snow on the ground Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, the area will see periods of snow all day Tuesday, starting at about 8 a.m. The snow is expected to go through about 9 p.m. Tuesday

  • Tuesday: Periods of snow. High near 34. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Tuesday night: Periods of snow, mainly before 9pm. Low around 26. North wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

The Mahwah Police issued a Nixle alert Monday night warning of a possibly sloppy commute Tuesday, and asked residents to allow for extra travel time.

In advance of the storm, NJ Transit announced it would cross-honor tickets.
