Rain Delays Santa's Trip To Mahwah

Due to possible inclement weather Sunday, the Fire Department has announced Santa will delay his ride through Cragmere, originally scheduled to happen this Sunday.

Instead, Company 1 fire trucks will escort St. Nick through Franklin Heights, Franklin Crossing, closer areas East of Franklin Turnpike, and the Cragmere section of the township next Saturday, Dec. 22.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected Sunday through Tuesday:

• Sunday Rain, mainly after 7am. High near 46. East wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Sunday Night Rain, mainly before 1am. Patchy fog. Low around 37. East wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Monday Rain likely, mainly after 3pm. Patchy fog before 9am, then Patchy fog after 3pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 49. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Monday Night Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog. Low around 41. East wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
• Tuesday Rain. Patchy fog. High near 52. Light and variable wind becoming west 12 to 17 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.
