Remnants of Isaac Could Impact New Jersey

State police warn residents of flash floods as remnants of Isaac may impact the northeast area of NJ on Wednesday. Meanwhile weather forecasts predict heavy rain showers, thunderstorms for Wednesday for the area.

New Jersey State Police have a issued a warning to resients that the remnants of Hurricane Isaac may impace the northeast area of New Jersey on Wednesday.

State police warned residents via Nixle alert on Tuesday to be aware of flash flooding in flood prone areas on Wednesday. 

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for the area Tuesday into Wednesday.

The weather service predicts periods of heavy rain showevers and embedded thunderstorms with rainfall between 1 and 3 inches possible which cause lead to flooding in some areas.

  • Tuesday Night - Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and 10pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Wednesday -  Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 85. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Wednesday Night - A chance of showers, mainly before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
