Santa Meets Thomas the Tank Engine in Mahwah

Santa Claus will visit the Donald Cooper Railroad exhibit at the Mahwah Museum this Friday

Santa Claus will visit the Donald Cooper Railroad at the Mahwah Museum this Friday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.

The railroad operates up to 8 trains – including Thomas the Tank Engine – and youngsters delight in the realistic subway that runs at their eye level. The model contains street fairs, a skateboard park, construction sites and a replica of the Great Falls of Patterson.

Donated  by Mahwah resident Renee Darboe, the Donald Cooper Railroad includes over 700 cars and 70 locomotives from her late husband’s collection.  The layout and scenery were created by dedicated volunteers who work many hours each week to wire the tracks, maintain the cars and the tracks, and keep the railroad in good condition.
