'For God's Sake, Vote For Me,' Christie Says After Punching Ballot

Gov. Chris Christie was welcomed to his local voting center in Mendham Township Tuesday morning by poll workers and close to three dozen media outlets.

"All I want to say to people is that it's really important to get out to vote," Christie said. "And if you're going to go, for God's sake, vote for me."

The governor arrived around 10:20 a.m. with his wife, Mary Pat, who voted first and told the public around her after exiting the booth, "I'm a woman who knows what she wants."

Without skipping a beat, the governor chimed in, "Don't I know that's for sure." as he stepped into the voting booth.

Christie spoke to reporters after leaving the Brookside Emergency Services Building about a possible second term, and the state of legislation regarding mental health reform in the wake of a gunman killing himself at the Garden Plaza Mall early Tuesday morning.

When asked if he expected to vote for himself again in the future, Christie said he would not seek any other office in the state of New Jersey. A loss in Tuesday's election would mean he had a "couple more months of a paycheck," and that his wife would probably help him find a new job.
