About 27.2% of Mahwah’s registered voters went to the polls Wednesday for the US Senate Special Election, according to unofficial tallies released by the township clerk’s office Thursday afternoon.

And, of the 4,426 people in Mahwah who voted, a majority voted for the candidate who ended up losing the election.

In the election between Democrat Cory Booker and Republican Steve Lonegan for an unexpired term in the US Senate to replace the late Senator Frank Lautenberg, about 2,394 voters in Mahwah voted for Lonegan.

2,031 voted for Booker, who ended up winning the race, statewide.

According to reports, Mahwah’s voter turnout was just slightly higher than the statewide voter turnout of about 24%.

According to nj.com, that set a record for the lowest turnout at an election in state history.

According to the Bergen County Clerk's Office website's unofficial tallies, about 26% of the county's registered voters went to the polls Wednesday. Booker clinched the vote county-wide, about 56 to 42%.

I know Mahwah voters were just voting for whoever was Republican on the ticket, but come on, did you seriously want a Tea Party guy with an attitude towards his own wife like this?... http://youtu.be/U4HNjQe50J0 Or a guy like Booker who's considerate enough to put himself in harm's way to actually help other people. Wise up.

Looks like the "under-46%" town-group's on a power-trip. Will Cory still use his police scanner in DC, to threaten NY Chuck's reign as the current Senate King of Publicity? Keep all that hope and change coming.......

Huh?

This is an excellent article to read whether you vote Democrat or Republican. It explains a lot about what's going on in the minds of the Tea Party people and why they do what they do and why they don't care if you care that they do it. Fear and loathing in the good old USA. http://tinyurl.com/mhabgj5
