"Joyce Kilmer Day" was designated by proclamation last year by Mayor Bill Laforet, flanked by Councilmen John Spiech and John Roth, to commemorate the writing of "Trees" by Kilmer in his house at the southwest corner of Airmount and Armour Roads on February 2nd, 1913.
