Gallery Talk about Darlington and the Ramapo Valley

Mahwah Museum Trustee Tetsu Amagasu will present the history of Darlington and The Ramapo Valley at the Mahwah Museum, 201 FranklinTurnpike, on Sunday February 23, at 3:00 p.m. Architect Tetsu Amagasu is chair of “The Neighborhoods of Mahwah: 1913-2013” exhibit and is a Ramapo Valley resident. Admission to the talk is $3; admission to the Museum is $5 for non-members, members and children are free. Reservations can be made by contacting lectures@mahwahmuseum.org, or calling 201-512-0099.

Mr. Amagasu will speak about the Darling, Crocker and Havemeyer Mansions, which were once the country estates of wealthy New York Society members. Later, Darlington and the Ramapo Valleyhoused the little known Mahwah Nike Missile Base, the Immaculate Conception Seminary, Mahrapo Farms, Ramapo College, DarlingtonPark and Ramapo Reservation. Tetsu will also talk about the many transformations which have taken place in this area of Mahwah. Questions and audience participation are encouraged.
