Take Control: Chronic Disease Self Management Diabetes

The Mahwah Board of Health, in conjunction with the Health Awareness Regional Program of HackensackUMC, will be hosting a Diabetes Self-Management Program on Mondays beginning September 16th from 1:30PM to 4:00 PM. for six weeks at the Mahwah Public Library.  People with type 2 diabetes and their caretakers should attend this very important workshop. Participants will learn healthier ways to deal with the symptoms of diabetes like: fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress, and emotional problems.  The program goal is to help people choose healthy behaviors they would like to follow and design strategies for incorporating these behaviors into daily life by setting weekly goals, making an action plan, giving feedback and sharing.  A course text book, and light refreshments will be available to participants for free. To register please log on to www.mahwahlibrary.org or call the Reference Librarian beginning August 19th.
