Bank Collecting CFA Food Donations

Drop off canned tuna, peanut butter, mac & cheese, and pasta to the nearby Boiling Springs location.

The following was submitted to Patch by Boiling Springs Savings Bank.

Boiling Springs Savings Bank is hosting its annual food drive to benefit the Center for Food Action (CFA) with collection areas in all 18 office locations. The collection has already begun and will continue until Friday, August 9.

The Center for Food Action is a non-profit agency that provides assistance to NJ individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardships. The organization is also the founder of the NJ Anti-Hunger Coalition which serves as a clearing house for information on hunger and poverty in our state and carries out anti-hunger advocacy on behalf of those in our state who are living in poverty.

July and August are always busy months for CFA. Working parents are faced with additional child care expenses and with schools out, families that rely on school meals to help them stretch their food dollars will need to spend more to put food on their tables this summer.

The summer months also bring a drop in food donations and CFA’s financial resources are always at a low point. CFA needs your help right now so that they can meet the demand for food and other services that they will see in the next two months.

If you would like to help with the fight against hunger please visit your local Boiling Springs Savings Bank office where there are food donation bins located inside each lobby. There are nearby locations in Mahwah, Wyckoff, and Ridgewood.

All non-perishable food items are welcomed. Canned tuna, peanut butter, mac & cheese, and pasta are among several items that are urgently needed. For more information about the bankwide food drive and Center for Food Action visit www.bssbank.com/begreat.
