Center for Food Action Wins $15K County Exec Grant

Last year, the CFA provided 70,000 emergency food packages.

The Center for Food Action received a $15,000 grant last month, thanks to the County Executive Grant Program for 2013, the county announced in a release last week.

The “Center for Food Action impacts so many lives in such positive way,” County Executive Kathy Donovan said in a release about the donation.

“The people of Bergen County rely on entities such as CFA to assist them during rough periods in their lives. I am proud of their efforts and I am glad to assist their worthy cause”.

Jennifer Johnson, the CFA’s Director of Communications, accepted the check from the County Executive.

The Center for Food Action, which has a location in Mahwah, "is grateful to Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan for selecting CFA as the recipient of a $15,000 grant in support of our work to help those who are struggling to keep food on their tables and roof over their heads”, Johnson said in the release.
