Mahwah Elks Harvest Ball to Benefit Special Needs Children

Ball will boast a brass band, dancing, dinner, and dessert.

This October, the Mahwah Elks will be hosting its 40th annual Harvest Ball. According to organizers, the event promises to be fun for attendees, and beneficial for families with special needs children in the community.

The event, happening October 5 at the Elks Lodge in Mahwah, boasts dinner, dessert, a 7-piece brass band, dancing, and the potential to win prizes.

$25 tickets to the event need to be purchased in advanced. The Elks use the proceeds from the event to help send local special needs students to camp.

"By giving the families the opportunity to send their children to an environment like Elks Camp Moore, it gives [those children a sense of freedom,]" Elk Andrew Caamano, one of the Ball's organizers, said. "The Special Children’s Ball helps us generate those funds necessary to send twelve children to Elks Camp Moore."
