Free Ice Cream, Fire Trucks At FD Fundraiser

is planning two family fundraisers that firefighters say can both introduce residents to the township’s FD and support the volunteer organization.

This Wednesday, Sept. 12, and next Wednesday, Sept. 19, the in the A&P Shopping Center will host the Company 1 fundraiser.

“DQ is in Company 1’s [coverage] area, and they have always been a big supporter of ours,” firefighter Tom Murphy said.

Wednesday, the FD will be selling Super 50/50 raffle tickets and , which happens in October. Anyone who purchases a $5 raffle ticket will get a free scoop of ice cream from DQ.

Families can also expect to explore fire trucks that will be on display, and fun activities like tattoos and face painting for kids.

In addition, on Sept. 19, members of the fire department will do a live demonstration of their specialized rescue equipment to cut up a car.

The ice cream fire department fundraiser goes from 6 – 9 p.m. Wednesday outside DQ. “All township families are welcome to attend,” Murphy said.
