Mahwah Salon Hosting 'Cut for a Cause' Fundraiser

Locals can get a hair cut this weekend that will help benefit a Passaic Church.

Riccio Salon in Mahwah is hosting “Cut for a Cause” from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The event will benefit the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Passaic.

“This is the first time we’ve done an event like this,” Salon owner Sandra Catania said.

“One of our stylists went to a ceremony at the Church and found out it was in need. The Church asked if anyone could come up with a way to help, and we came up with this.”

Instead of paying for haircuts and blowouts Sunday, patrons will be able to make a minimum $60 donation to the Church. 100% of the “payment” will be donated.

No appointments will be taken. Walk-ins only, on a first come-first serve basis.

“People from this area might not get to that Church a lot, but it is in Passaic. It’s hard to raise money in that area,” Catania said.

“I thought we should help.”
