Former Owner Of Nobody’s Inn Dies At 72

George's Fusiek's visitation Monday and funeral Tuesday

George A. Fusiek, former 40-year Mahwah resident and former owner of Mahwah restaurant Nobody’s Inn, died Saturday at age 72.

According to this obituary on the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home website, though best known in the community as the Inn’s owner, Fusiek was also a teacher, New Jersey State Trooper, a general contractor, and a YMCA water safety instructor.

Nobody's Inn was located on Franklin Turnpike in Mahwah, where Roxanne's Restaurant is now. Fusiek, who had moved to Garfield, owned the Inn for 30 years.

Fusiek was also known as a beloved husband of the late Francis Fusiek, father of Joyce and George J., and grandfather of Vincent and Michael.

About Fusiek, the funeral home’s obituary says, “George was a kind and selfless man with many friends and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a father, a friend, and a brother to many.”

Visitation will be held at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Monday. A mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, and Fusiek will be buried at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
