Beatrice (Betty) Leenstra, 91, of Mahwah, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 11, 2014, with her family by her side.
Born May 15, 1922 at home in North Haldon, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Gary and Karolina Van Loo and sister of the late Norma Speck. She was married to the love of her life, the late John Leenstra for 50 years.
She is survived by her loving children, Richard Leenstra and Barbara (Leenstra) Biernacki; along with six grandchildren; Jennifer Johnston, Derek Biernacki, Alyssa Wright, Brian Leenstra, Brooke Biernacki and Brett Biernacki; as well as 8 great grandchildren.
She was a genuine, lovely sweet person and a lady in every sense of the word. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who took such great care of her in her later years. She will forever be in our hearts and missed by all.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday, January 15 at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
