Community Update

One of my two leashed dogs was mauled, nearly to death, by an unleashed dog two blocks away from my home during an evening walk thru Suffern, NY, around 6:45 pm last Thursday night.  My dog is still hospitalized tonight at Oradell Animal Hospital.  Further, I was bitten on my right forearm by the attack dog. I was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital Thursday night and was advised by a physician "NOT to take rabies vaccines because the incidence of rabies in the NorthEast is nonexistent".  Arm swelled up bad despite Tetanus and antibiotic treatment.
