Patch brings you some of the best options for dining alfresco this summer

Whether you are looking to enjoy a romantic meal with your sweetheart, a family gathering or maybe even a quick bite all while taking in the glorious summer weather, Patch has put together a list of some of the top outdoor dining spots in the county.

Amarone Restaurant
Where:

Why Go:  This quaint restaurant housed in a carriage house is known for its northern Italian cuisine. A back patio offers patrons an outdoor dining experience for lunch or dinner.
Hours of operation: Monday to Friday from noon to 3 p.m.; Monday to Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 3 to 9 p.m.

Banchetto Feast
Where: 301 Center Avenue, Westwood, NJ; 201-497-6330
Why Go: Banchetto Feast offers a family-friendly atmosphere with outdoor dining options in great weather. The restaurant, which specializes in Italian cuisine, is BYOB but it does feature a wine bar. It also offers low-calorie, sugar-free, vegetarian and vegan options.
Hours of operation: Not available.

Baumgart’s
Where: 158 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood; 201-612-5688; 59 The Promenade, Edgewater, NJ
Why Go: Baumgart’s originated in Englewood and now has locations in Edgewater, Ridgewood and Livingston. The restaurant offers an eclectic taste of Asian and American cuisine. It’s also well known for its homemade ice cream, another reason it’s a great place for the family as the kids will love it. In Ridgewood, patrons can dine on the upstairs outdoor patio and enjoy the weather. Sit outdoors at the Edgewater location and experience a great view of the New York skyline.

Jalapenos

Why Go: Take the family out for some authentic Mexican cuisine at this locally owned restaurant. The restaurant features an outdoor dining area out front and is known for having an extensive selection of margaritas and tequilas.
Hours of operation: Monday to Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight; Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 4 to 10 p.m.


Jersey Boys Grill

Why Go: With everything from live entertainment to a place to watch sporting events, Jersey Boys has something for everyone. Patrons can enjoy the outdoor dining area in daylight or night and offers a fun atmosphere for couples or singles. Food specialties includes wood-fired pizza, sliders, burgers and ribs and vegetarian options.
Hours of operation:
Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.; Monday to Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. ; Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Saturday from noon to 1 a.m.

La Lanterna Café and Grill

Why Go: La Lanterna features a comfortable and elegant outdoor dining atmosphere for which patrons can experience the restaurant’s classic Italian dishes. The restaurant offers a romantic dining experience for couples.
Hours of operation: Lunch: Tuesday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Saturday to Monday, closed for lunch. Dinner: Tuesday to Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.; Sun from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday – Closed.

La Piazza Bistro Italiano

Why Go: LaPiazza has been well noted for its outdoor dining experience. Patrons can enjoy a romantic meal while seated on the small brick patio just outside this restaurant located on a quiet side street. The restaurant is BYOB and serves up innovative Italian cuisine.
Hours of operation: Sunday to Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.

Mahwah Bar and Grill
Where: 2 Island Road, Mahwah, NJ; 201-529-8056-
Why Go:  Known for its burgers, steaks, seafood, pasta and more which has been in the Kunisch family-run restaurant for decades since their great-grandmother opened Allendale Bar and Grill in 1935, the Mahwah Bar and Grill features a large outdoor patio for dining with the whole family. Children’s menu and low-calorie options are also available.
Hours of operation: Hours: Daily, 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Santorini Taverna
Where:  2020 Central Road, Fort Lee, NJ; 201-947-2055
Why Go:  The traditional Greek tavern known for its seafood dishes features a large elegant outdoor terrace perfect for romantic dining and enjoying the fresh air. Signature dishes include the broiled octopus, lamb shank cooked in a caly pot and broiled whole fish.
Hours of operation: Daily from noon to midnight.

The 9 Iron Grille
Where: 314 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ; 201-447-2014
Why Go: Dine on the patio for breakfast, lunch or dinner and take in the natural beauty of the restaurant’s natural surroundings. Located at the Paramus Golf Course, the restaurant is open to the public and one does not to be a member of the golf club to dine here. The American-style menu includes burgers, steak, sandwiches and pizza. There are gluten-free, low-calorie, natural and vegetarian options as well.
Hours of operation: Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
