Letter To The Editor: DPW Employees Thank Residents For Support

Council voted down proposal to privatize the township's recycling department this summer

To Our Neighbors,

A few weeks ago, Mayor Laforet, proposed to the town council the idea of outsourcing your DPW's recycling department.

The amount of support we received from you, the residents, was, and still is, hard for us to comprehend. You stood by our side, and along with us, we were able to defeat this administration's attempt at privatizing your services....and for that, and from the bottom of our hearts...we say thank you!

Your Mahwah DPW [Employees]

Great, lets get the leaves picked up sometime earlier than late December please.

Billy, remember the DPW was working with the hurricane last year and the October snow..

I do remember, but then again it never snowed again. Two years ago they never bothered fixing the vacuum truck and it was the same deal. It would also be nice if they trimmed the grass where rt 17 n offramp meets 202 north. Its going to cause an accident some day.

Billy, I also had some concern's about that area also so I called the DPW and was informed that this is county property and must be maintained by the county. As far as the leaves being picked up so late, my street was devastated by that Oct. storm and I must say the DPW workers worked tirelessly trying to get my street and every other street in Mahwah cleaned up. I had no problem waiting to get my leaves, which were under inches of snow, picked up as this has never been a problem in the 40 years I have lived in Mahwah.

By this post, your bias is crystal clear and there is not an even an iota of doubt that either you work for DPW or are married to one of the workers. Who else would know such a mundane fact as to what strip of grass is or isn't maintained by the county. Nice try lori dori, but from this point on, no one is going to buy your concerned citizen BS.
