MB&G Named Favorite St. Patrick's Day Spot To Celebrate

Readers' Choice poll results are in

Over the past week, Patch asked readers to vote and comment on their favorite places in and around Mahwah to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The votes are in, and Mahwah Patch readers have chosen the as their favorite spot to stop on St. Paddy’s Day.

According to MB&G owner Craig Kunisch, March 17 is the establishment’s busiest day of the year. “We love St. Patrick's Day,” Kunisch said. “It is a coming together of the community to celebrate and have fun. Everyone is Irish for a day.”

According to Kunisch, the day has a special significance to his family. “Our St. Patrick's Day tradition and heritage goes back to the Great Depression when my great-grandmother gave away corned beef and cabbage at the Allendale Bar & Grill to those in need,” he said. “It was a coming together of the community in the 1930s, and it still is today.”
