Neighborhood Focus -- Deerhaven On The Ramapo
A private little mountain oasis set on the edge of Bergen County Parkland within 30 miles of New York City
The Deerhaven on the Ramapo Community is a quiet little oasis in Mahwah. You cross the historic Cleveland Bridge over the Ramapo River then make your way over a smaller waterway onto Deerhaven Road.
The neighborhood is private community with a homeowners association made up of local residents charged with the responsibility for the private roads and for maintaining the rural integrity of the surroundings. The homes range from renovated summer bungalows, charming cottages, contemporary's, older English Tudors to modern colonial homes --- all set on larger wooded lots. Most of the property sizes are 2 or more acres although there may be a few smaller lot sizes sprinkled here and there.
Recent home listings and sales over the last three months have ranged from $410,000 for an older ranch style home to upwards of one million dollars.

The neighborhood is quiet and affords plenty of open space and some neighbors have small farm animals like goats or chickens. The location borders the Ramapo River off route 202 and it is close to Rt 287, routes 17, 208 and other major highways yet maintains it's quiet mountain charm.
