4 Military Veterans Sworn In As Bergen County Police Recruits, Including Husband And Wife

The four veterans will be joining over 100 other police recruits at the Police Academy on Friday.

Four military veterans were sworn in as Bergen County police recruits Tuesday night in Mahwah at the Bergen County Police Headquarters.

Three are former Marines, and the fourth has served the army as a military police officer. Two of the Marines, Westwood's Christopher and Wendy Tinio, have also been married for five years with two children, according to the cliffviewpilot.com.

The county has made it a priority to hire veterans to the police force because of their experience serving the country and protecting citizens.

The officers will join over 100 other police recruits Friday on the first day of Police Academy.
