Accident In Front Of Mahwah Ford Causes Minor Fuel Spill

Reader photos of the Tuesday morning crash

A two-car accident in front of Mahwah Ford Tuesday morning resulted in a minor fuel spill and some minor injuries, Police Chief Jim Batelli confirmed.

A Suffern woman suffered “minor chest injuries believed to be caused by [her] vehicle’s air bag deployment,” when her car collided with another on Franklin Turnpike, Batelli said. She was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, he said.

The gas tank in the other car, being driven by a Bergenfield man, “ruptured” as a result of the accident, causing an “extremely small gas spill,” Batelli said.
