The driver of a tractor-trailer hauling trash that flipped over on Route 287 in Mahwah Monday morning was not injured in the accident, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to the report, the crash, which caused multiple lane closures and delays, was near the intersection of Routes 287 and 17. Trash from the truck was spewed all over the highway, and needed to be cleaned after the rollover, the report said.

Cops said the driver came around a bend too quickly and hit a column on the highway's median, the report said.

trash trucks are top heavy. they put the light trash on the bottom and the heavy stuff on top to squash it down. I wonder how many trucks actually make it to the landfill every day

Hank, please stop this "trash talk." When we bought our home in late '73, the hot appliance was a compactor, to make a week's trash to a simple 1-ton bag, since nothing back then was recycled, except for our pre-fad compost pile! Unit was long-retired, too filthy to use for any wine making.
