How To Help Family Who Lost Home in Fire Wednesday Night
The fire department has set up a clothing drive for the Mahwah family whose house burned to the ground Wednesday night
A Mahwah DPW worker, his wife and three children who lived in a two-story home off Stag Hill Road in Mahwah lost their home and all of its contents in a fire that broke out before 6 p.m. Wednesday.
After fighting the fire for hours Wednesday night, the Mahwah Fire Department and emergency responders are asking the community to help the family recover from the blaze.
According to officials, the township got the family a hotel room Wednesday night, and some clothes from the Ramapo Reformed Church’s clothing closet.

The fire department has started a clothing drive at the Co. 1 firehouse to help fulfill the family begin to rebuild.
According to the FD, the family needs clothes for a man, woman and three kids – a seven-year-old girl and nine and 12-year-old boys. Clothing sizes needed:

- Father: Pants 36-30; Shoes 9.5; Shirts XL
- Mother: Pants 14; Shoes 6.5 or 7; Shirts XL
- Kids: Pants 12 or large for the boys, 12-14 for the girl; Shirts L and XL for the boys and XL for the girl; Shoes 9 and 4.5 for the boys and 6.5 for the girl
