Insanity Plea Frees Mahwah Man from Child Porn Charges

The man was found in Illinois with 300 images of young naked girls on his computer, according to a report.

A Mahwah man that had 300 images of undressed girls and women on his computer was found not guilty of child pornography Wednesday by reason of insanity, NJ.com reported.

Sean Murphy, 56, was found at a community college computer lab in Pontiac, Illinois printing out six photos of naked underage girls on Dec. 13, the report said. Police later found the photos on his computer, children's DVDs, binoculars, prescription pills and a prescription pill bottle with a lock of hair in it, the report said.

Murphy’s attorney admitted that he had the child porn, but said that he has suffered from schizophrenia for over 30 years, and so did not know the seriousness of the crime, it said.
