Mahwah FD Helps Fight Six Alarm House Fire in Oakland

Fire rendered home uninhabitable, report said.

Mahwah’s Fire Department was one of 18 local departments that responded to a six-alarm blaze that knocked down an Oakland home Friday afternoon, township fire officials confirmed Friday night.

Mahwah Fire Companies 2 and 4 helped fight the fire alongside the multiple other agencies, they said.

According to a NorthJersey.com report, no one was home when the fire at the 5,000 square foot Skyline Drive home broke out shortly before noon Friday.

The fire left the home uninhabitable, the report said.

It took firefighters several hours to put out the fire in the near million-dollar home, it said.

According to the report, two dogs were killed in the fire.
