One of the homes was significantly damaged, while the other sustained more minor injuries, the report said. The fire spread quickly, thanks to construction at one home and heavy winds blowing the fire from the car, to a detached garage, to the two houses, Suffern fire officials told lohud.com.

According to the report, flames were visible for miles around the home, and the fire attracted a lot of attention from nearby residents.
