Mahwah Woman with Open Wine Bottle Flips Car, Report Says

A 25-year-old township woman was driving on Route 23 in Riverdale Tuesday when she struck a median and a light pole, according to a report.

A Mahwah woman had to be cut from her car after she crashed into a concrete median, went airborne, slammed into a pole on Route 23 in Riverdale, and then rolled over, nj.com reported.

According to the report, police said the 25-year-old woman’s breath smelled like alcohol, and she has an open bottle of wine in her purse at the time of the crash.

Cops responded to the accident at about 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, the report said. The woman was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson where she was treated for neck and back injuries, the report said.

Charges are pending an ongoing investigation, it said.
