Police ID Three Men, Including Father and Son, Killed in 287 Accident

Police say the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.

According to the report, Harry Bulatowicz, 58, of Ellenville, N.Y., was the driver of a stalled cement truck that was pulled over on the side of the road. He and maintenance workers Santiago F. Mercado, 42, and son Satiago M. Mercado, 22, both of Nyack, N.Y., were killed in the crash, the report said.

The truck was from Concrete on Demand, of Oakland, the report said.

According to police, the cement truck was pulled to the side of the road when a car also pulled over. Both were hit by a tractor trailer, which killed the three men and set the tractor trailer and truck on fire, police said.

Cops also identified the others involved in the accident – car drivers Rosemary and Anthony DiBattista, 58 and 59, of Fanwood, and tractor trailer driver Adelbert McKee Jr., 45, of Oxford, N.Y., the report said.

No charges have been filed, but the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, it said.
