The water main break southbound on Route 17 by Route 202 and Ridge Road is currently being repaired, the Mahwah Police Department says.
After a water main break broke early this morning, leaving immediate surrounding areas with low pressure, the police department has reported as of 9am that the repair crews should be finished within 90 minutes.
Residents should be aware that there may be low water pressure or discoloration, but that the break is within a closed system and therefore there is no risk of water contamination.
Residents are advised to run water for one minute to remove any discoloration or air, and should also refrain from heavy water usage, such as washing laundry, for the next 24 hours.
