Thief Snags Designer Boots While Mahwah Girl Gets Pedicure, Cops Say

Cops are using video surveillance footage to help ID the thief, police said.

When getting a pedicure, keep an eye on your designer boots.

A young Mahwah girl who recently got a pedicure in Wyckoff learned that lesson the hard way after police say a thief walked out of a salon with her boots while she was getting her toenails painted.

According to Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox, the Mahwah girl was getting a pedicure at a township salon Monday when her $200 Ugg boots were stolen. She had taken them off and left them in an area of the salon where customers typically leave their shoes, police said. By the time her pedicure was over, her shoes were gone, police said.

The Wyckoff Police Department is currently investigating the issue, and using surveillance video footage from the salon to identify the Ugg thief, Fox said. Cops declined to release the name of the salon during the ongoing investigation.
