Access To Schools Limited During Continued Road Closures

Residents will be able to access one school a day during continued roadwork on Ridge Road

Once again, road construction and repaving on Ridge Road is will close the roadway to through traffic Monday and Tuesday.

According to township engineer Mike Kelly, Ridge Road, which was milled last week, will be paved this week.

Monday, access to the road’s schools will be allowed from Macarthur Boulevard, and parking will be allowed at , Kelly said at last Thursday’s township council meeting. Anyone traveling to the high school will need to use the middle school parking lot and walk over.

Tuesday, access will be open from W. Ramapo Avenue, and anyone visiting the schools will need to park at the high school.

According to an announcement from Mahwah Police Captain Robert Sinnaeve, access to the , the four Mahwah schools on Ridge Road, and the Center for Food Action will be limited to local traffic only during the closures, and "delays to reach those locations should be expected," Sinnaeve said.

Impacts to those buildings may not be too great, as the , and the schools are not in session until September. However, activities are scheduled to happen at the school buildings over the next two days.

According to Sinnaeve, the road is scheduled to be closed Monday and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but closures should not last beyond Tuesday. Kelly said .
