Business Administrator Announces Reverse Resignation

Campion's last day working for the township was supposed to be September 30.

Just about a month after announcing he would be leaving his job as township business administrator in Mahwah, Brian Campion has decided not to go.

Township council members announced at a meeting Thursday night that Campion recently alerted them that he has rescinded his resignation from the position, which was set to take effect September 30. The township had already posted the job opening with the League of Municipalities, but township officials said they were happy to hear of Campion’s change of heart.

All seven township council members and Mayor Bill Laforet publicly thanked Campion Thursday night for deciding to stay.

“I am very thankful Brian is staying,” Laforet said. “It will just be business as usual, we will carry on.”

Campion initially announced his decision to leave the post by saying that it was “time to move on.”
