Mahwah Waiving Permit Fees For Irene Repairs

Mayor says repairs to damaged homes will not require township permit fees

Residents who need to apply for permits to do repair work on their homes from damage incurred as a result of Hurricane Irene will not need to pay township fees, Mayor John DaPuzzo told Patch Wednesday.

“Mahwah is waiving all permit fees for repairs people need to make as a result of the storm,” he said.

After residents in the most affected homes clean out them out, they need to wait for township inspections before power can be restored to their homes. DaPuzzo said the township is waiving permit fees to help ease the burden of the storm.

The waivers “will not apply to additions” and other non-storm related work, he said.

Permit applications can be found on the “Forms Center” page of the township website. Residents can get more information by calling Mahwah’s municipal building, at 201-529-5757.
