NJ Transit Work to Shut Mahwah Roadway

Street near train station will be closed at various times throughout the week.

A train construction project will shut one of the roadways that connects the east and west sides of Mahwah for most of the week, Mayor Bill Laforet announced in a Nixle alert over the weekend.

According to the alert, NJ Transit will be working on the East Ramapo Avenue railroad trestle beginning Monday. Work is set to continue through Sunday, April 6.

The transit work will shut East Ramapo Avenue during the following times:

  • Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. - approx 3 p.m.
  • Friday 10 p.m. continuously through Sunday 6 p.m.
Motorists can expect minor delays along the alternate routes so allow for extra time on your trips.
