POLL: Bridgegate a 'Footnote' by 2016, Christie Says – Do You Agree?

Governor tells CBS News scandal won't have impact on political future.

He's told the media, the residents of New Jersey, and anyone else willing to listen that he had nothing to do with a major traffic scandal that brought motorists to a standstill on the country's busiest bridge for days.

Now Governor Chris Christie is dismissing the Bridgegate scandal that has left his administration in tatters, saying the entire ordeal will be just a "footnote" on his political career when 2016 rolls around.

Christie, in Washington, was addressing CBS News' Bob Schieffer at a conference when the journalist asked him about the scandal's impact on his political career, as well as a potential bid for the White House.

See Christie's answer regarding a run for president here.

Do you think Christie is dismissing the scandal by saying it'll be a footnote two years from now? Do you agree with the governor's assessment of the impact Bridgegate will have on his political future? Let us know in the comments below, and vote in our poll above.

Nothing. The left side wants every one to say the right side sucks and they are great and vice versa. That's what partisan politics is all about. How about both sides suck?

if they want to clean house it has to start from the top not the bottom. we can get to the bully after the mess in the White House is cleaned........and doubt it happening any time soon

Fat Footnote is Wishful thinking by Gov.Crispi, the toasted one. Do any REPUB non thinkers remember the Sec. of Treasury and Comptroller of the same Treasury( WALKER RESIGNED SEE HIS SPEECH IN AUG 2008) appointed by bush Telling us AMERICANS the sky had already fallen(seventy trillion in deficit) before THE BLACK CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT HAD EVEN BEEN NOMINATED AND WON?BY FIVE MILLION VOTES? REMEMBER when half governor half wit Palen could see Russia from her house and how we lost one million jobs per month when Bush was president waving by by? And how the "GLOP" didn'even invite him to their 2008 convention ?Was that Obama's fault?
