Mahwah Schools May Look for New Slogan

District officials say high school students may help come up with the new tagline.

A phrase familiar to Mahwah parents and students might soon be changed.

Mahwah Board of Education member and Board Public Relations Committee Chair Suzanne Curry announced at a recent board meeting that the district’s slogan, which appears on all official communications to parents, might soon be changed.

According to Curry, the current slogan, “A District with a Reputation for Excellence in Education” is, “a little stale.”

The district is looking for something that is a bit more modern, and that better reflects its current initiatives, she said.

Schools Superintendent Lauren Schoen said she and Curry are currently working with High School Principal John Pascale on a way to involve the district’s high school students in helping come up with the new slogan.

Though Schoen said the plans for that are, “still in the working stages,” some possibilities include a student submission process or student competition to come up with a new slogan.
