Ramapo College President Wins Distinguished Service Award

Peter Mercer is one of two college presidents who will receive the award from West Bergen Mental Healthcare.

Ramapo College President Peter Mercer is one of two college presidents who will be honored by West Bergen Mental Healthcare at its annual brunch this March with the Distinguished Service Award.

WBMH posted an announcement on its website recently naming Mercer and William Paterson President Kathleen M. Waldron as this year's award recipients. 

"This symbol of excellence, which is given each year to exceptional community leaders" is now in its 36th year, West Bergen said on its website.

The awards will be presented during the group's lunch at Seasons in Washington Township on March 16.

According to his biography on the Ramapo College website, Mercer became the school's fourth president in 2005. Before that, he served as dean of the law school and as Vice President of the University of Western Ontario. Mercer LL.M. and Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, and a J.D. from the University of Western Ontario.
