School Board Member Resigns After 10 Years

District will appoint a replacement within 60 days

Longtime Board of Education member Ken Angelo, who was reelected to his seat last year, announced Wednesday he will resign from the post this month.

“This will be my last board meeting,” he said Wednesday night.

Angelo blamed work commitments for the departure. “I recently have a bunch more professional obligations,” he said. “I don’t think it’d be fair to the residents for me to miss [a bunch] of board meetings when you could have someone in this seat who can make the time commitment and be here.” He said he was not anticipating the new professional obligations when he ran for reelection last April.
