Road Closures Sunday For 5K/10K

The annual Mahwah Schools Foundation event will have township roads closed Sunday morning

According to the Mahwah Schools Foundation, its annual 5K/10K race, happening Sunday morning, will impact traffic throughout the township. It identified the following road closures:

8 to 10 a.m. (Approximately)

  • Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) / Northbound -CLOSED
  • Darlington Avenue / Westbound - CLOSED
  • West Ramapo Avenue(between 202 & Ridge road) / Eastbound - CLOSED
  • Ridge Road (entire length) / Southbound – CLOSED
  • 10:00 AM TO 11:00 AM (Approximately)
  • Darlington Avenue / Westbound - CLOSED
  • Ridge Road (between Macarthur Blvd & Darlington) / Southbound - CLOSED
  • MacArthur Blvd (between Ridge and Darlington)/ Eastbound – ONE LANE CLOSED

Description of New Traffic Pattern: The affected roadways will be open in ONE DIRECTION ONLY, with the exception of MacArthur Blvd. Traffic will be flowing in a circular pattern around the affected roadways as follows: Darlington Avenue (eastbound)  MacArthur Blvd (eastbound) Ridge Road (northbound) West Ramapo Avenue (westbound) Route 202 (southbound). Motorists wishing to access facilities on Route 202 in the area of Ramapo College or Continental Field, can only do so by traveling SOUTH on Route 202 from the Route 17 area. All traffic exiting Ramapo College or Continental Field must exit and travel south toward Oakland and Darlington Avenue. There will be NO Access to Ramapo College or Continental Field from Darlington Avenue.

  • Bergen County Parks (Darlington County Park, Ramapo Reservation, Campgaw Mountain)
  • Houses of Worship (Immaculate Conception Church, Holy Cross, Temple Beth Haverim, Hindu Samaj)
  • Sports Facilities (Continental Soldiers Field, Adorno Fathers Field)
  • Mahwah Public Library
  • Mahwah High School, Middle School, Lenape Meadows, and Joyce Kilmer School
