The Mahwah Museum is celebrating Sunday's Super Bowl by bringing a former Mahwah High School football star and Super Bowl Champion back to town.

Robert Kratch, former MHS player and right guard for the NY Giants in the 1991 Super Bowl will be a special guest speaker at a Mahwah Museum event happening at the Ramapo Reformed Church on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

According to a release from the Museum, Kratch was a key player on the Mahwah High School football team coached by Ed Caporale that went to the State finals in the 1980s. He graduated MHS in 1984.

Kratch played his college football at the University of Iowa and was drafted in 1989 by the Giants where he played for five seasons, and was a part of the 1991 Super Bowl Championship team. He later played three seasons for the Patriots where he also played in the Super Bowl on the team that lost to the Green Bay Packers in 1997. He now lives and operates a business in Minnesota.

Kratch is set to talk about his time playing both in Mahwah and in the NFL as part of the Museum’s Super Bowl week celebrating Super Bowl XLVIII.

All those who attend this free event will have a chance to win an official Super Bowl Program from 1991 autographed by Kratch.

Admission is free but reservations are encouraged because space is limited.  Reservations can be made at www.mahwahmuseum.org
