Team rallies to beat Buena 11-4, reports say

The boys varsity baseball team is the Group 2 State Champion after beating Buena 11-4 Saturday in the state finals, according to a report on NorthJersey.com.

The team rebounded after an early-on four-run defecit, the report said.

According to an analysis of the game on NJ.com, offensive play secured the Mahwah victory. “Mahwah scored an average of almost nine runs in each of its six victories en route to the Group 2 title, and scored 10 or more runs in each of the last three,” the article explained.

This is the first time the T-Bird baseball team has won a state championship title in the 53-year history of the program, NorthJersey.com reported.
