Mahwah Restaurants Recommend Easy Super Bowl Recipes

These appetizers are quick, easy, and the favorites of some of our local chefs!

Expecting a group of hungry football fans Sunday evening? If you are choosing to stay home to host the Super Bowl, you'll need some tasty recipes to get everyone talking.

For advice on how to put together simple recipes that will give your Super Bowl Sunday a real kick, Patch spoke to some of Mahwah's favorite restaurants for recipe recommendations. 

1. Grilled Vegetable Stacker - Mahwah Bar & Grill

  • Eggplant
  • Portobella mushrooms
  • Roasted peppers
  • Spinach
  • Zucchini
  • Mozzerella cheese

Grill up the vegetables and stack on top of each other. Depending on your preference, you can cut them into small bite sized pieces. Put mozzarella on top, heat when ready to serve, remove from oven and drizzle balsamic reduction over.  Enjoy!

2. BBQ Spare Ribs - Jun Lung Chinese

  • 3 lbs. spare ribs
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons bbq sauce
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3-4 crushed garlic cloves

Combine the marinade ingrediants, and marinate the spare ribs for 2 hours in the refrigerator, covered. Cook in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Cool briefly before serving.

3. Nacho Supreme - State Line Diner

  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 package Mexican blend cheese
  • Jalapenos
  • Olives
  • Sour cream
  • 1 jar salsa 
  • Guacamole

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place tortilla chips in pan, top with browned ground beef, salsa and cheese. Bake for 10 minutes. Serve with jalapenos, olives, sour cream and guacamole on top.
