Gena Pickett is one of the best jumpers in North Jersey, report says
One of Mahwah’s top track athletes is heading south.
Gena Pickett signed with Duke University on Signing Day, Feb. 6.
According to a NorthJersey.com sports blog, Pickett chose the North Carolina school after also considering Vanderbilt, Indiana and Dartmouth.

She plans to study medicine to become a veterinarian, the report said.
According to the post, Pickett is one of the best track jumpers in North Jersey, and holds a Mahwah record in triple jump.

Pickett was one of two Mahwah athletes signed earlier this month. Aly Burns was also signed to play soccer at Sacred Heart.
