Students Discover Wildlife, Nature At Ramapo River Day 2012

Students from North Jersey caught bugs and did chem experiments on the river this weekend

About 60 students from across North Jersey gathered in Mahwah Saturday for “Ramapo River Day 2012.” The event, put on by and East Jersey Trout Unlimited, was free for the scouts, youth groups and school groups that took part.

The students gathered with Ramapo College instructors off of Halifax Road to catch and identify bugs, do water chemistry experiments, learn about non-point source pollution and botany at the Ramapo River. Students also were able to try fly casting and observe fly tying.
